Celebrate the harvest season with food, drink, and fun at the Eureka Springs Oktoberfest! Scheduled for October 15th, 2016!
Ah, autumn: bringer of gorgeous fall weather, brightly colored leaves, and best of all, Oktoberfest! Oktoberfest is the world’s largest beer festival. It lasts for 16 to 18 days in its home country, from mid or late September to the first weekend in October. It began in Munich in the early 1800’s became so popular that it is now celebrated around the world.
Eureka Springs loves a party and is always ready to add another festival to its schedule. The town has been putting on an Oktoberfest celebration for a number of years, with each successive year bigger and better than the last! Eureka Springs Oktoberfest may only be one day – but what a day!
In the Bavarian tradition, Eureka Springs Oktoberfest includes plenty of live music, great food, and – of course – beer! The craft beer and cider scene in Northwest Arkansas is booming. More than 25 craft beers and ciders will be available for the tasting. There will also be a selection of seasonal beers on hand.
More than just beer, Eureka Springs Oktoberfest also promises lots of delicious food. Brats, turkey legs, fries, sauerkraut, and more will give you something to wash down with your sudsy beer. Yum!
Will there be oompah? You bet there will be some oompah! Of course, not every band providing live music for the event will be playing polkas in the fine , Bavarian tradition – but you can bet there will, indeed, be some oompah! It just isn’t Oktoberfest without oompah.
Eureka Springs Oktoberfest is a street party, held in downtown Eureka Springs along Center street, just off Spring Street. Cost of entry is only $10 with proceeds going towards community charities. This means you can chomp your brat, quaff your beer, and boogie to the oompah with a clear conscience. What’s not to love?
