Opera In the Ozarks 75th Anniversary

Opera in the Ozarks celebrates its 75th anniversary in 2025 with special events, a brand new, state-of-the-art theater – and you’re invited! May 31st through July 25th, 2025.

Opera In the Ozarks at Inspiration Point’s (OIO) annual summer opera festival has been a launching pad for emerging artists since 1950. The festival auditions young talent each year to participate in an intensive, 8-week training. The program culminates in the fully produced operas of the annual, summer festival.

Many festival trainees go on to grace the stages of the Metropolitan Opera and international venues in Vienna, Paris, and Rio de Janeiro. Notable alumni include Latonia Moore, Leona Mitchell, and Mark Delavan.

It’s not just the students who benefit from the program, either. Attending audiences enjoy professional-quality performances, in an intimate and scenic, Ozarks setting. In fact, the stunning views from Inspiration Point, found near the top of Rock Candy Mountain, are always worth visiting. And all just 10 minutes from our Eureka Springs bed and breakfast, 5 Ojo!

Opera in the Ozarks 75th Anniversary

OIO commemorates its historic 75th year with an evening of food, drink, and music in the theater’s new rehearsal hall.

The celebration kicks off at 5:30pm on May 31st with the 75th Anniversary Gala Banquet & Gala Performance. The elegant evening promises performances by distinguished alumni and current artists, including soprano Latonia Moore and baritone Brian Montgomery.

The evening also celebrates the grand opening of the Inspiration Point Center for the Arts. The modern, $34 million, 300-seat theater boasts full climate control, unobstructed sightlines, and exceptional acoustics.  The new theater also includes expanded rehearsal spaces, production shops, practice rooms, and faculty housing.

Tickets for this event are available online and expected to sell out fast.
