It’s true! The popular destination has over 18 miles of trails, open year-round from sunrise to one hour after sunset. Though free to the public, donations are appreciated and help to maintain the trail system. E-bikes are allowed, and water is available for purchase at certain points along the trails.

Lake Leatherwood Trails

Lake Leatherwood has more than 1600 acres to explore, including 25 miles of trails for both hiking and biking. The park’s natural serenity give the impression of being fairly remote -yet it’s actually quite close by. The popular park is just ten minutes drive from our Eureka Springs inn at 1303 Co Rd 204 off U.S. Hwy 62.

Hiking trails at the park travel over varying terrain and cater to hikers of all skill levels. The 2.8 mile long Lake Leatherwood Overlook Trail is considered quite easy and leads to scenic views. Miners Rock Loop is a popular choice with its unique rock formations. Those looking for a moderate challenge can travel the 2.5 mile long Lake Leatherwood Loop Trail around the lake. A great way to enjoy the park’s natural beauty. 

The park is also home to the Lake Leatherwood Bike Park featuring two hubs of trails for beginning to expert riders. Lake Leatherwood’s trails are well-maintained and clearly marked, making them easily accessible.
