Eureka Springs’ The Great Passion Play is set to offer an enhanced experience for its upcoming 2025 season. Significant technological and artistic upgrades further enhance the popular theme park’s already moving portrayal of Christ’s last days.
Spring has sprung and that means opening day for The Great Passion Play is just coming right up! 2025 performances begin Good Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19, 2025. This is followed by two more performances, May 2 and 3, with the regular season starting Memorial Day Weekend.
The Great Passion Play theater and theme park opened in 1968 and has seen over eight million attendees since. The park offers tours of the “Holy Land,” and a 4,000 seat outdoor amphitheater. It’s also home to the famous Christ of the Ozarks monument.
The Great Passion Play 2025 – What’s New?
The Passion Play amphitheater brings the Easter story to life each season, with a multi-level set, live animals, and a cast of over 125 biblically costumed actors.
The 2025 season promises to be even more exciting than usual with a host of updates and upgrades. These include new music, an updated sound system, and enhanced lighting and effects.
The introduction of a newly composed musical score is one of the biggest highlights of 2025. The park production team traveled to Budapest, Hungary, in 2024 to record a new score with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra. This acclaimed group is known for their work “Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning,” “Wednesday,” and many others.
A new, state-of-the-art, sound system provides an immersive, IMAX-level, surround-sound experience. Enhanced lighting and special effects enrich the storytelling for a more dynamic and engaging experience.

The Great Passion Play offers a variety of attractions beyond the performance in the amphitheater. These include:
