Opera in the Ozarks 2022 – Love On The Rocks

Opera in the Ozarks 2022Opera in the Ozarks 2022 season has been announced and tickets are selling fast. This year’s focus is Love On The Rocks, featuring performances of Mozart’s Così fan tutte, Puccini’s La Rondine, Sondheim’s A Little Night Music, 2 Broadway cabarets, and more! June 24 – July 22, 2022.

Opera aficionados will not want to miss an opportunity to enjoy an Opera in the Ozarks performance. The company started in 1950 as a summer music camp and slowly evolved into an important stepping stone for students interested in pursuing theater performance careers.

Opera in the Ozarks at Inspiration Point offers an intensive, eight-week summer program to a select group of students every year. Attendees not only receive professional career training but an opportunity to perform on stage in a professional scale opera.

The opportunity is priceless and a great many alumni of the program move on to prominent stage careers. Consequently, when you attend an Opera in the Ozarks performance, you’re very likely watching one or more rising stars.

Opera in the Ozarks 2022 – Love On The Rocks

Opera in the Ozarks 2022The 2022 season runs from June 24th through July 22nd, with 22 opera performances, a chamber music concert, and 2 Broadway Cabarets.

The first Broadway Cabaret is at Mount Sequoyah Center in Fayetteville, AR with ample hors d’oeuvres. The second is at the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs and includes a full dinner. Both cabaret venues will feature cash bars.

Inspiration Point

Opera in the Ozarks 2022Opera in the Ozarks at Inspiration Point is located at 16311 Hwy. 62 West, in Eureka Springs, just 10 minutes from our Eureka Springs bed and breakfast, 5 Ojo.

As Inspiration Point’s name implies, it is an iconic location. The grounds are located at the top of Rock Candy Mountain, providing awesome, expansive views of the White River valley below.

Further, the main building at Inspiration Point is majestic, patterned after castles of the Rhine River valley. It was built in the late 1920’s by Charles Mowers, a German-born architectural engineer who gifted the property to Phillips University in 1938.

These two factors make visiting Opera in the Ozarks at Inspiration Point a must for first time visitors, even if there are no performances to attend!

You’d think we might take a breath or two after just celebrating the end of the year holidays but oh, no. Not Eureka Springs … and definitely not when we’re talking about Mardi Gras!

Don’t Miss Original Ozark Folk Festival 2021

Original Ozark Folk Festival 2021Come to Eureka Springs this November and experience 3 days of fun and music at Original Ozark Folk Festival 2021. This year marks the 74th annual return of America’s longest continuously running folk festival. November 11th through the 14th at various venues around Eureka Springs.

The Original Ozark Folk Festival has been celebrating Ozarks culture in Eureka Springs since 1947. The event draws both talented musicians and hordes of eager Folk and Americana fans to the city every year.

2021 will see a partial return to a normal event after last year’s more cautious festivities, with performances taking place in a variety of venues around town. Some safety precautions will still be in place to help insure the personal safety of all who attend.

2021 venues include the Basin Park Hotel, the Main Stage Theater, and the City Auditorium. Basin Spring Park will also once again ring with the sounds of free music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

2021 Eureka Springs Volkswagen Weekend and Ozark Euro Rally

Eureka Springs Volkswagen Weekend 2021Volkswagen fans and German car enthusiasts alike will not want to miss the 2021 Eureka Springs Volkswagen Weekend and Ozark Euro Rally. August 27th, 28th, and 29th, 2021.

Volkswagens have been popular since the early 1960’s and the Eureka Springs Volkswagen Weekend has been a local tradition since 1992. People come from all over the region every year to show off their own cars or to see all the gussied up VW’s.

So many folks and cars show up, in fact, that they had to make an overflow show, some years back. Then the overflow show grew so large that it earned its own name: the Eureka Springs Ozark Euro Rally. Though this event was originally just the VW-show overflow, it is now open to German cars of all types and has its own rabid fan-base of attendees.

2021 EurekanGet set for the 2021 Eurekan! Eureka Springs’ annual, 3-day multisport festival is back after last year’s unavoidable hiatus. This year’s festival promises a triathlon, bike races, a 5k, a 10k, and more! July 23rd through the 25th, 2021 in Eureka Springs, AR.

Looking for a way to shake off all the dust and cobwebs from last year’s social distancing and staycationing? How about participating in the 2021 Eurekan?

The annual festival offers a variety of physical challenges to choose from. Registered participants may enter any event they choose or go whole hog and attempt them all to achieve the Full Eurekan.

The 2020 Ozark Folk Festival Is On!

Ozark Folk Festival 2020Huzzah! Ozark Folk Festival 2020, scheduled for November 11th through November 14th in Eureka Springs, is a go! Things have been a bit dicey this year, as I’m sure you’re aware, but the 73rd annual festival will be taking place!

The original Ozark Folk Festival is America’s longest, continuously presented folk festival – and no pesky pandemic is going to stop that! But don’t worry. The return of this popular and beloved annual music celebration does not come at the cost of safety or common sense.

Ozark Mountain Music Festival 2020

Ozark Mountain Music Festival 20202019 is almost behind us and that means it is almost Ozark Mountain Music Festival 2020 time! OzMoMuFest is four days of live music – bluegrass, folk, urban and American roots – in Eureka Springs Basin Park Hotel. January 16th through the 19th, 2020.

Stay warm this January with some hot music at an outdoor music festival held on indoor stages – OzMoMu! The annual Ozark Mountain Music Festival always brings great bands and happy fans to town for four days of good music and 2020’s event promises no less.

This year’s lineup includes such popular bands as Arkansauce, Wood & Wire, The Hillbenders, and Dirtfoot.

Autumn is a wonderful time to visit the Ozarks. The air is cool, the leaves are transforming with their palette of warm colors – and the events just keep coming here in Eureka Springs!

For most communities, there’s not a whole lot going on between Halloween and Thanksgiving. In Eureka Springs, however, festivities are so common that Halloween looks like just another day of the week.

War Eagle Craft Fair 2019Autumn is very nearly upon us and Eureka Springs is still alive with things to see and do. October sees the popular War Eagle Craft Fair 2019, Hillberry Music Festival, Eureka Springs Oktoberfest, and – of course – loads of fun Halloween events!

Eureka Springs is located in an area that’s already worth visiting for its endless natural beauty. And yet our little town continually ups the ante with festivals, concerts, art shows, and other entertaining happenings. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. You’d be hard pressed to find a month in Eureka Springs that wasn’t stuffed to bursting with fun events.

October is no different with a variety of events followed by Halloween, which always brings out the best (and wackiest) in Eureka Springs. One of the first big events of the month is the annual Hillberry Music Festival.
