EUREKA SPRINGS B&B RELIES ON BROADBAND FOR BUSINESS
From Connect-Arkansas Monthly Newsletter. Volume 1, Issue July, Year 2008

Dessert as a part of breakfast is standard fare at 5 Ojo Inn in Eureka Springs. So is high-speed wireless Internet access.

Richard and Jan Grinnell serve as innkeepers of the upscale bed and breakfast situated on a large one-acre wooded lot in the heart of Eureka Springs' historic district.

"We installed wireless high-speed access in September 2005 because our guests were requesting it more and more," explains Richard. "Access to e-mail, chat and the Internet seems to be important to guests who want to stay connected or who want to
handle works items while they are away."

All of the inn's accommodations have Wi-Fi access, and they even make a laptop available to those who need to borrow one.

Not that the experience is all work and no play. The morning starts with a gourmet three-course breakfast prepared by Richard and Jan, the latter of whom attended culinary school before the couple took on the endeavor. Other guestroom amenities include double size whirlpool jetted tubs, fireplaces, refrigerators, coffee makers, complimentary water and sodas, and a basket of complimentary snacks.

Like their guests who cannot completely leave work at home, the Grinnell's rely on high-speed internet, broadband, for the success of their business. "[We] couldn't exist without a Web site," says Richard. He estimates that 80 to 85 percent of their
guests find the 5 Ojo Inn on the Internet.
