The Eureka Springs Bluegrass Weekend is a city-wide event of down-home musical tradition featuring many free and ticketed shows around Eureka Springs. Featured acts this year include Melvin Goins and Friends and Karl Shiflett & Big Country along with other familiar names such as Retro & Smiley, Pam Setzer, The Clark Family, and Bill Nesbitt.

The Eureka Springs Fat Tire Festival 2014

Eureka Springs Fat Tire Festival 2014The Eureka Springs Fat Tire Festival is a three day celebration of exciting and competitive mountain biking challenges – July 18th through the 20th, 2014.

A weekend filled with both competitive and non-competitive events, the 2014 Eureka Springs Fat Tire Festival kicks off on Friday at 5pm with a Short Track Race taking place at Harmon Park.

Saturday picks up the pace with a number of challenging events including the Progressive Bike Ramp Down Hill, a one-way, downhill course of loose gravel and hard pack clay that includes doubles, table tops, step ups and downs, rock drops, ledge drops, rock gardens, and numerous berms. The Progressive Trail Design Super D is also on Saturday with a course designed as a mix between a downhill and a cross-country race including a 50′ climb, rock drops, sink holes, berms, ledges, loose rocks, and other challenges – a course of serious speed and danger.

In its fourth year, Eureka Shines Grand Illumination 2014 begins Monday, June 30th. Come and see the ornate, historic architecture of downtown Eureka Springs adorned with brightly decorated and oriental lanterns of many shapes and sizes.

Opera in the Ozarks is always a big event here in Eureka Springs and this year’s season will be no exception. With works by Mozart, Lapine and Sondheim, and Puccini in the schedule, you know you’re in for a real treat!

In the old Subway building in Eureka Springs a new Japanese Restaurant has opened serving Asian Fusion Japanese cuisine. The restaurant is Mountain Sushi and it has quickly become one of our favorite lunch places. The other night we decided to try dinner. We started with an Asparagus and Guacamole Roll and OMG, what a mouthful of flavor. We had Chicken Tempura and Chicken Tempura Fajita for our main entrees and found them to be excellent.

We’ve tried a number of other dishes for lunch and have not found one we didn’t like.

2014 Eureka Springs Blues WeekendThe 2014 Eureka Springs Blues Weekend is less than a month away and this year’s schedule is promising a to deliver a blues experience of epic proportions.

Father’s Day weekend in Eureka Springs will be alive with local, regional, national, and even international blues acts. The whole town gets into the act as shows spill out into venues all across Eureka Springs. While the headliners take over the historic Eureka Springs City Auditorium, with late shows in the Barefoot Ballroom perched on top of the 1905 Basin Park Hotel, other bands will be found in clubs all over town.

Eureka Springs Historical MuseumEureka Springs, Arkansas is not a large town but it is a colorful community with a colorful past – and there’s no better place to discover that than at the Eureka Springs Historical Museum.

Eureka Springs “sprang” into existence from the discovery of a spring of “healing waters” by one Dr. Alvah Jackson in the early 1850′s. His subsequent marketing of the water’s curative powers and the native American legends surrounding it brought a lot of attention and health seekers.

Watch as these talented masters of the chainsaw pull beautiful forms from otherwise average logs and stumps – and we’re not talking about just a bunch of bears and pseudo totem poles, either. You will be witnessing true artists at work at their craft and the masterpieces they create will amaze and delight you in ways you didn’t think chainsaw art could.

27th Annual Ozark Mountain UFO ConferenceThe 27th Annual Ozark Mountain UFO Conference in Eureka Springs, Arkansas is scheduled for April 11th through the 13th so now is a great time to get those tickets before they are sold out!
